    Thanks for the comments, chaps.
    @ Peter, I wanted to see how few colours I could get away within the vegetables and Illy's tracer let me use 16 without too much loss of detail. I'm not familiar with InDesign, so I guess I'll have to download a trial and have a looksee.
    @ Frank, Xara's Bitmap Tracer is too much like hard work and very clunky, as has been discussed elsewhere. A rare case of Illustrator being the easier option. I have Vector Magic too, but it's less easy to get the control I was able to get in AI.
    @ Steve, yes there are a lot of improvements in this area, not least of which is speed (64bit version). The presets all are easy to understand for someone like me who is still coming to terms with Illy's vastness.
