Default The September 2012 Giveaway of the Month

    Named Color T-shirt

Hey, who knows? Tomorrow, you might need a drawing of a T-shirt or two, in a color you can quickly change. The September Giveaway is exactly that: Gary’s Xara file contains a vector drawing of a T-shirt all ready for a graphic or snappy slogan. But it doesn’t end there: the “Sand” color at far left on the Color Line is a tagged (named) color. Bring it up in the Color Editor and change it by manipulating the saturation, hue, or other slider and bang! The T-shirts change to that color.

The colored shirts are machine-washer safe, tumble dry, and fade resistant. How much luckier do you get this month!?

You are invited to grab the Xara file over at XaraXone.com and then post back here and show us all how you think t-shirts should look.

    Hi David—

The file doesn't require any additional files. The first color on the Colour Line is named "Sand".

Open the Color Editor and then on the drop-down list where it might say Current Fill Color", scroll the list to first color called "Sand".

Now that it is displayed in the Color Editor's HSV or RGB color field, you change the color, and thus you change the color of the T-shirts.

I believe I covered "Naming Colors" in chapter 5 of the Official Guide. The example file of the toy train?

This Giveaway has nothing to do with textures.

And don't call it a "stupid question": when you do that, it makes other people reluctant to step up to the podium with their own questions.

The only real "Stupid Question" is at the dinner table: "Are you going to eat that last piece of pie?"
