Unhappy Creating a square with a black outline and transparent fill?

Okay, I may be totally dense, but how do you create a square with a transparent fill (it has to go around part of a photograph)? I am using DP7. I can create the square with no fill, but I have no idea how to get a black outline around it (to show that it's a square. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if this question seems really stupid. ^^;; Thank you!

Thank you! I got it to work right. I was wondering how to make the outline of the square thicker?

Is there a way to apply transparency to the fill only...to retain a solid black outline? In the past, I have made a clone, applied the transparency to the original shape (fill and line), then made the clone No Fill and No Transparency.

No. You did what I would do. Except I would have no outline on the transparent object and no fill on the outline clone.

Once you have a rectangle with an outline click the little crosshatch button at the bottom on the left hand side of the colourline. You can also go to the arrange menu and select convert line to shape and your outline becomes a shape which can be filled and given and outline of it's own.

If you want a semi-transparent fill but maintain a nontransparent outline you can use a linear transparency.
