Default Blacked out areas in edit view

    Hi all,
I'm new to Extreme Web Designer 5 and have a question I hope someone can answer.

When I'm editing a page and I add a graphic (e.g. photo, button etc) I do the following:

    1. Add a new layer
    2. Draw a rectangle (defaults to black colour).
    3. Right click on rectangle.
    4. Select web properties.
    5. Select Placeholder.
    6. Select Replace with graphic annd apply.

When I view the page in Preview Website, the added graphic shows OK.
However in the edit screen the graphic does not show, only the black rectangle.

Am I missing something in basic settings, as this seems strange not being able to 'see' what I've added in the edit view?

    Hello Sandbagger

If you place an object on a layer, it will not be visible unless you have a trigger object (text, button, graphic, etc.) that links to that layer.
