big size of site

It seems like my site became too heavy and complicated relatively it was (progress, so to speak ))). Can I divide it into several separate documents, saving proper connections and dependencies of all pages and hierarchy, of cource. What pages should I keep nesessarily to don't miss anything? Or it will be ok, if I just copy .xar file and delete several pages in each one, exporting them all to one folder? Thanks in advance!
