Text appearing under button

I am new to total newbie to web design and I am trying to put up a simple website.
When I go to review the site I find when I put the curser over a button the text that is on the linked page appears underneath the button how do i stop the text from appearing when the curser stops on a menu button etc.

Or post a screen capture of what you are seeing (preview the page in the browser and when you see what you don't want to happen, press Print Screen on your keyboard. Paste this into Xara, crop out all but the important part and post it here.
