The 'blobs' do not have a specific color, they become the opposite color of the background object. All done dynamically within the code so there is no current need for a registry entry. I'm not sure it would be advisable to change the code to allow a specific color. Probably cause too many false complaints of the blobs not working correctly.

I'm sure you're right. Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the problem of invisible blob handles.
