1px outline rounded rectangualr

Hi
using photoimpact 6 ... how do I get a 1px outline shape (rectangular with rounded corners ) ? I am trying outline drawing tool with various settings, but none of them produces a 1px outline ... there are always 3px outlines (when anti-aliasing is on) or else some weird outlines (1px on the straight sides, irregular pix in the rounded corners) ...

What am I doing wrong here? I am somewhat of a newbie here ... using my son's PC to try and make some graphics once in a while ...
Any help from anyone available?

You're not going to get a 1 pixel outline on a rounded corner when you don't use anti-aliasing. Pixels are squares - one square next to another and if you're going around a corner, they are still squares.

Imagine a piece of graph paper and try filling in the graph so you get a rounded corner. It doesn't work because you can't get half a pixel.

Hi MaryLou,
thanks for the note ... how then do people make those thin (seemingly 1px) borders with rounded corners? I am a little confused and really would like some help there ...

A little late here ,,,'
Once you have your shape drawn (wether 2d or 3d)
just change to 3d pipe in the drop down menu....change border to i px
thats it.
On some other shapes you can click on Edit/Trace/Image/
change from horizontal deform to 3 d pipe ...border 1 ...

and.... make this pipe object much larger than required, right click and convert object type to image... then scale the new image/object down until you have what you are looking for... I mean if this new image/object is page size, and you resize/scale it down to button size, it should do the trick eh...

You will no longer have a 1 pixel shape if you make it 3D because of the anti-aliasing. If you want a true 1 pixel border, then you will have jagged lines on the curves.

If you want a "thin" edge around an image, then using 3D pipe set to 1 will do it.. and so will Paint On Edges.
