Um, the name of the song is the first line, Stygg!

The singer would be Justin Hayward, still playing in what's left of the Moody Blues, along with John Lodge and Graeme Edge.

Nice use of the typeface, by the way. You've lightened up what I always felt was a very "dark" song.

Correct Gary, give that man a coconut Although a beautiful song I always felt there was something a little sinister about it? Or perhaps its just me.

You know, I think it was the ton of reverb they used, particularly evident during the flute solo. Also, Mike Pindar used a Mellotron to create the violin section, and this device has always been a little haunting.

Plus I get this song confused often with ELP's "Lucky Man", because they're both waltz time signature, so Nights, at least for me on some level... gets a bad wrap from a tale about a self-absorbed knight (not "night").

Pretty haunting that flute. I was at their concert they gave at my old Uni. and it was packed to the gunnels to see them, I got to see and meet them as I use to do some stage lighting when at Uni. and that night worked with their lighting crew, two weeks later doing the same thing but this time for the Who, what a night that was and what days they use to be then as many groups use to do the Uni. circuit. From pop groups to the Ballet Rambert and one of my favs. Blondie. Met a few in my time, some I can't talk about!!

Nice one Stygg! I remember that song!

Here is a font play that was inspired by the sites I linked to in this thread The extra swashes are hand drawn with the shape builder tool

Good one Francis, I like the connection you made with the threads and your font drawing, especially the extra art work, nice job. That shape builder tool seems real handy, I must upgrade

    Default June (12th) Font Play

I think I can attest to the fact that that Great Vibes can indeed be a romantic typeface.

The graphic counterpoint to Great Vibes was difficult to locate. I finally settled on Frank Lloyd Wright's Exhibition typeface.

I hope the Administrator sees this soon.
