    if its a black and white drawing, I'd just set contone dark color white and then contone light color black [in default setup thats a right click on the colorbar] - saves getting a 'bitmap effect'

    The only time I have ever done this I used the live effects negative and that worked like a charm. Handrawn, I'll have to try your method to see how I like that.

    The benefit of the Live Effects Tool is it changes all the colors, not just two colors as with a contone. So if you have a multi-color image, or a selection of images, vector and/or bitmaps, it makes all colors negative.

    And the process is non-destructive. If you want to get back to the original, just remove the Live Effect.

    yes of course

    incidently if you only have two colors and you prefer to use the contone method that is not destructive either - you can just change it back
