    Default 8.1.1 update now available

    HI All

We’ve released updates for Xara Designer Pro X and Xara Photo & Graphic Designer MX today, version 8.1.1.22437. Note that the product name for the latter has now changed to Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013.

    Updating

To update your installation, simply run the program and it will automatically identify an update if available. Alternatively use the "Update program" facility in the program Help menu. Note you need to have unlocked AND registered your program for the update to work.

Additional information regarding the update is available from the news section of the Xara support site.

    Thank you
    Xara Team

Brilliant, thanks. Looks like the positioning on page bug is fixed too.

Edit: looks like the unwanted presentation menu bug is still there http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...th-arrows-Help - can live with that for now but hopefully fixed in a future update?

Is there a way to manually download the update? When I run the program I get the registration screen coming back up, and when I hit register, I get an error that it can't connect to the server. This is my work PC, so I can't change firewall settings.

    Thanks for the update!

Gradient Profiles appears to work ok now.

    However,

-When dragging PNG, the images sizes still doesn't appear correctly as in v7. (4 x 4 inch will appear 3.2 x 3.2)
-It's still not possible to ctlr-click the masking part of the opacity masks.

Marc - the PNG images should appear correctly according to their dpi

    Nope, not here!

Like said a 4x4 inch @300dpi will appear 3.2inch when dragged in Xara.

Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013
Sigh. Not to make things too confusing.

It would be swell if you could post a list of bug fixes and improvements.

Marc - I just created a 4 x 4" square, applied a 350dpi fill, exported as 24bit TIFF to my desktop. It is 384 (4in) x 384 pixels when I drag and drop it into DPX.
