    Question Facebook 'Like' widget

I am being frustrated by this!

    Tried so far:

    1. Widgets gallery.
    2. Facebook plugins widget, drag to desired position.
    3. Explorer window opens.
    4. Click on "LIke Button"
    5. Scroll down to "Step 1 Get Like Button"
    6. No URL entered. (If I should enter a URL what URL should I enter?)
    7. Uncheck Send Button
    8. Leave other fields as default i.e. Layout: Standard, Width 450, Shaow faces unchecked, Verb to display: like, colour scheme: light, font: arial
    9. Click on Get Code
    10. Highlight and copy the no 2 code to the clipboard. Here it is : <div class="fb-like" data-send="true" data-width="450" data-show-faces="false" data-font="arial"></div>
    11. Click OK on code box which disappears.
    12. Click on "Insert" at the bottom of the Explorer window.
    13. A little revolving "doing something" icon appears for a bit and then a group of little select squares appears but with no graphic and no link set.

There must be something that I am missing!

    Can anyone help, please?

The URL you enter should the the URL that you want people to 'like'.

This support article should get you started with this http://support.xara.com/index.php?_m...articleid=2968

That advice refers to WD 7 and 7 Premium. I will try it anyway but it is very different from the MX help.

    Here goes...

I will let you know what happens.

I followed the instructions to the letter but was left with no visible change to the page.

Not quite none on a second look. I get a transparent rectangle which can be selected. There is a pop up associated with it which says Widget edit.

I will try it all again and see if there is anything else that I can think of.

BTW This might be a daft question but should I be dragging the widget from the gallery into the rectangle? The rectangle at 450px wide is pretty big BTW.

Got it this time. I dropped the widget on to the rectangle. I might have been fooled by the fact that the widget is not visible at all on the WD page. That fact makes it really difficult to position on the page to look right. I am there though.

If you have been reading this, thank you and thanks go to PeteS for the pointer.
