    Hi,

I'm producing a document for students here at Southampton University which includes both stock photos and some we have taken. For consistency I'd like to copy the colour effect used on this stock photo. I want the heavy blue cast, but also the (relatively) natural skin tones, and also a good black. It's a bit beyond my current knowledge of Photoshop - can any of you guys help. I'm running version 6.

    Thanks,

    Rich.

Generally i'd say use a HUE&SAT Adjustment layer above the photo, set to COLOR mode, with the Opacity reduced to suit your taste (try 50% to start). Try other Blend Modes as well.

But the results are also somewhat dependant on the colour/quality of your specific photo.

PS: think i should mention Charisma that this is a Photoshop board. I wouldn't expect many folks looking here for Photoshop help to have/use Photo Impact. As well, the advice is not relevant. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

You can also erase or mask any part of the adjustment layer to let the photo layer show thru at 100%. Then adjust the color balance to make it look natural.

I agree with Mark on this one Charisma... there is a PI board down at the bottom of board here should you feel so inclined ... and since you have already visited said forum I must say that this has shown nothing but bad taste on your part... please refrain from this type of activity in the future eh... thnx

Hey great tips here you two [thumbs up] http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
