    Default Creating a forum

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to create a forum on my own web-site? I cannot find anything about it anywhere.

    Thanks and take care

Sure you can, Depends on your level of expertise as a webmaster and if you have a free website or paid one too. Some free hosts don't allow heavy traffic so you will need to check with your host.
A simple search for 'forum software' into your favoured search engine will find them for you...adding 'free' to the search terms will also help, if you are looking for free of course. Ahem!

For most forums you will need access to a database, though there are a few that uses a 'flat file' meaning it writes to folders and stores everything as text files.

Just find software from the internet, download to your computer, unzip it, read the installation docs, upload to your website with an ftp program, following all installation steps as per instructions.

    Welcome.

Unfortunately, there are no special facilities in Xara to create a forum. Most people use specialist forum software or sites to host their forums.

There's a forum widget in the Designs Gallery - Widgets, Forms and More - Other Widgets folder that is provided by Nabble that embeds a forum widget within your Web Designer page.

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

There are quite a few web based forums that are quite good and which you can link to and from Web Designer.

These on-line forums, for example Free Forums http://www.freeforums.org/ offer a great amount of features and control and come in both free (with ads) and paid (more options and no ads).
