    Default Image Transparency

    Hi,

I have bought the Xara Designer Pro 7 a couple months ago and still have not figured out how to make an existing jpg image transparent, or any image transparent ? Is there somebody who can explain that to me, or is there a how to video ?

    I would really appreciate help!

    Hi Soet

Select the object then press F6 for the transparency tool.

You can then select the type of transparency (flat, linear, circular etc.) and the strength of effect using the adjustments on the tool settings.

    Hello soet,

You can add transparency to any bitmap image whilst you are in Xara. But when you export it as a JPG the transparency is lost because JPG does not support transparency. However, PNG does support transparency so you should choose this format if you want a final image that has a transparent area.

XDP7 can directly import .PSD files. Layers are preserved and can be accessed via the "page and layer gallery".

    File>>Import or [Ctrl+Alt+I]

If it's not set to be visible press F10. You should then find it on the right side of the application window.
