I wanted to create the appearance of a transparent heart with a smaller heart within.
Did I accomplish this? And if so, how did I do it?

yes; no idea technically; but visually the 'veil' like effect is one of your better ones I think

I think you did it very very well! I don't how you went about it but it would be interesting if you would tell us. Please

Excellent effect Gary.
Just guessing but the larger heart is shaded so it is darker toward the center making it seem to go behind the smaller heart. There are some star (asterisk) shapes over the smaller heart that are shaded to be nearer to the viewer. This gives the impression the smaller heart is within the larger heart which is semitransparent.

I think the small stars, or asterisks are what give the sort of illusion of a smaller heart inside a larger heart with a transparent cover.
What I mean by that is a opaque container with a clear transparent cover.
That is excellent Gary.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
It worked for me, Gary! I really love your stereograms! They have such depth! ;-)
