I was wondering if someone could help please. I have done this in the past but cannot remember how to do this now. I have a picture of my children that we have cut out into a circle. I wanted to use the blend tool to distort it but cannot. Oh yeah, I am trying to make it look like they are inside a christmas ornament (ball).

    Thanks,

The blend tool is the wrong one - you probably need to use bitmap effects if you are trying to make the picture look like a globe.

The mould tool also might work.

Sean Sedwards has a Sperical Mould plug-in that you can download from XaraXone Shareware Page that will distort a bitmap image and make it appear to be round.

There is a mini-tutorial in the Xone as well as a read-me file in the download.

All you'd have to do is create a circle, lay it on top of the picture, select both the picture and the circle, right click, combine shapes--> intersect

    Steve

I think that John wants to make the photo appear to be wrapped around a sphere (is this correct, John?)

Anyway, here is another way to achieve this effect.

Crop your image in a circle as Steve has so wisely suggested :-)

Create a black circle the same size, change the fill to Circular, drag the middle of the fill up and to the left or right of center.

Apply a Brightness, 50% transparency to the circle.
