New page created - shadow missing

Not sure whats going on here, but i just wanted to create a new blank page for a website, size was just the std 760 svga and although on the edit screen it shows the drop shadow of the page, it does not appear on the preview or in a browser, also in the page and layer gallery their is no "shadow" in the mouseOff layer?

Can that be turned off and on? though i have done nothing but create a new page?

Any ideas?

seem to have solved it myself - bringing up the pasteboard bkgrnd colour box added the desired items to the MouseOff layer - never noticed that before!
