I have split my web site design into several individual Xara Web Designer 7 Premium files each containing several pages. The idea is to limit the size of the individual “web” files and each file is set to contain the content of my main menu.
Linking within my individual files (these will be sub-menu items) creates no problem and for linking between files I can use absolute addresses, i.e. http://www.---.
But it would be better if I could use a relative link address as one would do with Dreamweaver.
For example - .\folder_name\filename.htm
I could structure the site so that my “About” page and sub-pages were all in a predefined folder, say called About. Other parts (files) of my proposed site would follow the same predefined folder organization.
The great advantage with relative paths is I could then move the site between servers without destroying the internal linking.
Is what I’ve asked possible? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Joe Stewart
