    Great fonts, indeed. I have nearly all of them collected in the past.
    my problem is, that only very little of them come close to the original typewriter they have used in the former GDR for official documents.

    Well, obviously choose the one that comes closest as far as the shape of the letters.

    Other things you could do to make it look more authentic:

    1. Set the fill color to something approximating the darkest bits of the original text (eyedropper works well for this).
    2. Give the text a glow shadow, set the blue at a couple of pixels, and the transparency around 25-30%.
    3. Give the text a plasma or cloud transparency, adjust size to taste.

    As Ben suggested a plasma or Fractal transparency could be used to erode the text further as well a bit map transparency could be used for this and if you use the profile sliders (just click the arrow that is on the info bar when the transparency tool is active) you can fine tune the effect even further.
