I found a way to show how the extracted file looks to Xara X when it is traced. There is a fog of extraneous pixels in the transition region that are not that noticeable when used. So, the brush looks acceptable. The trace would not, however. The image looks fine in Photoshop, too. For a clean image, I would draw an object in Xara X, and make a clipview. It that case, there would be no fringe pixels. Rich
