    Default Gif file in Designer Pro as web page background

    Hi, I have a .gif file which is sure animated one because can be seen in motion in any browser.

    But when I drop this .gif file from disc Fill gallery with Ctrl + Click to the Page background area, it becomes a background but not animated.

    Did you have similiar experience? I am just also attaching the mentioned .gif

    thanks,
    Zsolt

    I do not think you can do what you think you can do. A background image cannot be animated. Even if you drag and drop your file on a rectangle and set the fill to repeat it will not be animated when you publish.

    I think what you would need to do is to create a new animation with each frame repeated.

    But I still don't think it would animate as a background.

    Does anybody else have any ideas?

    Web Designer 7 / Premium or Designer Pro 7 only

    Web Properties>>Page>>HTML code (head)

    <style type="text/css">
    HTML {background-image:url('index_htm_files/hatter_test.gif');}
    </style>

    Select any page object and press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+A
    Browse to and select the hatter_test.gif chose ‘Open’.

    Neodeist thanks very much, it is really working like this.

    Basically what can be the reason that the Xara did not propose simplier solution? I know that the .gif files are not too much proposed on elegant web sites, but there are some delicate ones where I like such background

    I personally have never come across a page that utilized animated backgrounds to good effect. In every single case, the result has been to distract the my eye away from the content of the page. In really extreme cases, attempting to concentrate on reading the text caused really bad headaches.

    But hey, that's just like, my opinion, man.
