    Default Creating logo, cropping.

I've created a logo for my business, on an A4 size backing, I would just like to know how I can know crop this down from A4 size, to the size I would like, the logo is just the name of the business extruded. I would like to crop it down to optimum size then perhaps do more to it)))
    Thanks in advance

Crop. I've got a black background, and want to lose most of it. Want to keep the logo itself the same size.
    Thanks for quick reply.

    ok you can:

create a rectangle the size of the area you want - place over the logo in position - select both and press ctrl+3 [intersect]

alternatively put the rectangle behind the logo [in position] select both and press q - this clip method allows you to re-position your logo within the clip boundaries afterwards [clipview]

there is also a clip option on the photo tool toolbar

Thanks for the tips...I have just had this same problem with linear transparency overlaps of the design off the design rectangle area and was trying to figure how to crop them out.

the shape you use does not have to be a rectangle - you can use any closed shape object

Final question, the logo is saved as a xar, will this file type work well in websites or does it need to be changed to a png or something.
    Thanks

you will need to export it as a bitmap - for web that would be png or jpg ......

    file menu > export
