    Default A small clipart gift

Apologies in advance to the Admins if there's a special place where users can upload clipart to share with the community. XU has a place, but after searching here, nada.

I did this as a minor book illustration, but played with it a little so I'd have silverware and a nice plate to use in food-related work any time I needed it. The objects are grouped so you're free to rearrange as needed.

Enjoy, and remember that the blade to knives always go business side toward the plate. You work from the outside inwards as courses are served in fancy places such as Gaddesden Place.

It's brilliant when Xperts share their work.
Particularly when they share their .xar files.
Over the years, I've learnt the most by taking these files apart to see how things were done.

    Many thanks, indeed, Gary.

Thank you Gare, I love the chicken pattern on the plate! It would be a nice thing if TG had a clipart or sharing forum some thing like the brushes gallery. I'd share more files if they were in a gallery like that where they wouldn't get lost in a backlog of old threads!

Well, I guess that confirms that we don't have an area on TG.

Which is odd, because Xara Designer polls new clipart all the time, and the physical version comes with clipart.

I submit that any clip art the members post should be evaluated by TPTB for inclusion in the next version, or better still, in a designated area of TG, no?

I thought this sounded like a good idea, so yesterday after viewing your post, I have inquired about the possibility of creating such a folder in the Xara resources forum.
I don't know who can do it and haven't gotten a reply yet, maybe it's the way I asked or titled the post don't know.

I do appreciate your effort, Wizard.

I can't tell you how many finished designs I have on hard drive that I've used...and wouldn't mind seeing re-used, you know?

I create art the first time to pay the bills. After that, I feel it's for sharing!

Here's hoping, and here's another one,

My guess is probably Antony would be the one to ask about a new place to share clip art. If there was such a place I'd certainly share more files more often.

thanks for the guitarist Gare, one question is this and the first one free for commercial use? I often use clipart, for advertisement layouts and I never know from week to week what I may need

Anything I upload here is CharityWare, Frances. Let me explain, because it's not a word in our language (yet).

Use the clipart personally, commercially, just don't sell it or claim the original unmodified artwork is your creation.

Basically, I think Creative commons licensing is the right idea.

So if you like a piece and use it...throw a couple of bucks toward a worthwhile charity such as the Red Cross, or Doctors without Borders.

A political campaign is not a charity. Nor is a special interest group.

Just do some good. Fair enough?

    My Best,

    Gary

Thanks for the clarification Gary. I like the charityware concept.

Once again Gare, you've done an excellent job both in the material art end of things and the morally excellent end of things.....thank you for being who you are.
