I really hate when stuff like that happens.

What did you name your site when you published? It should be index.htm or index.html, all lower case.

Is this what you did?

Can you connect to your website host using an FTP program such as Filezilla? If so, try publishing your site to a folder, then FTP transfer the files from the folder to your web host's server.
