Does anyone know of a quick way to find where a path is broken? I've got these objects and just can't find the broken node/nodes so that I can close the object and flat fill it

Select one section the path and change the outline color. Keep doing this. Eventurally you will find the broken link(s).

thanks Gary - I tried that

however each object got 'fixed' when I deliberately introduced a break and then re-joined that break

the three objects below are now ok, any idea whats going on?

Don't know if this will help but you can select any node then hit the Home or End key and the First or Last node will be highlited respectively. That way you can identify the beginning and end of the shape.

This just might find its way into the Xara Xone TIPS page. Thanks neighbor.

Thank you!! - thank you Gary, thank you Sunland

Using both suggestions finds lost joins, BUT my objects are different what I don't understand is according to Xara X1 my shapes are not broken, I have to break ANY node and then rejoin it before it will fill - any ideas why?

    best regards /David

I know of another way, think it was posted here a while ago... you select a node, then press TAB to switch to the first/last node then F4 and ENTER. It will automaticaly close the two sections.

Did you use shape tool (F4) to select both nodes.. and then grabing one and moving it close to other (in zoom mode) so they were connected? Because if they jsut overlap, the shape isn't closed, it's just line.

Btw. you would do best if you posted the file here http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
