Your Avatar - Why‽

A recent occurrence made me think that it might be an idea to find out why the TG members have drawn/designed/chosen their Avatars?

There are pictures and photographs, there are patterns and shapes and some even have...!

So, please join in and tell us all why you chose your Avatar‽

My Avatar is a tribute to the late great Seve Ballesteros, who passed away earlier this year.

Here is the image of Seve showing all the excitement of an incredible achievement.

Seve had to sink an important putt on the 18th green as St Andrews to have any chance of winning the open.
He did and this is what he did in the incredible atmosphere/excitement.

So, my Avatar is a tribute to a great man and sportsman.

My current avatar of course is me, I chose this photo of my self because this is the only photo in existence that shows me wearing my reading glasses and I wanted to show the real me. No make up, no photo editing, just me.

Interesting topic! Rik, I had no idea what that was about... so now I know.

Mine is Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica. It was when I was first into the show... I think I saw the picture and liked it. And I've never changed it... maybe partially becuase this forum is attached more to the 'professional me', so I keep it somewhat civilised. That's not to say my others are outrageous mind you...

'oh que si' - 'oh that if' - but in the English sense of 'as if'

comes from an episode of Lewis Trondheim's 'Les formidables aventures de Lapinot' - which has the great misfortune to be released in English as 'The spiffy adventures of McConey' and it's not only the title that suffers in translation

however, the original French was a great influence on me, along with the work of Sokal, Ptiluc, Gerrit de Jager and many other continental [as in European] cartoonists, who so know how to write as well as draw, and persuaded me that a good comic book story does not need 'superheros' and zero gravity mammaries

why choose that particular quote? parce que.... [just] because...

Mine is of my beautiful 19-1/2 year old princess of a sweet cat who died 3 years ago this Halloween Eve morning (before the fireworks) which was a blessing for her.

She died healthy and happy, just too much clock on the body....it's still painful at times though I have 2 beautiful cats who are brothers to each other (but not to Kisa)....
