Default Saving an image in layers?

Well, I'm here again, asking for advice. I really appreciate all of the help. Xara seems pretty awesome but there's a lot to learn for someone who's been using Photoshop Elements.

I'm working on a t-shirt design for the company WeLoveFine, and it asks that hi-res artworks be saved in layers so that they're ready for printing. The art has to be in working file format or WLF won't be able to print it. How does one do that in Xara? Thanks again!

So...I do the art in Xara (with layers) and then export it to .PSD (Photoshop) and that will convert the art into the required layers?

BTW, the template WeLoveFine provided is in .PSD file...

if you export from xara to PSD then each xara layer will be a PSD layer

you can open a .PSD file in xara and it will keep the layers - but, it does not support clipping layers etc, only 'normal' layers

Thanks so much, Steve, you've been very kind and helpful.

The WeLoveFine guidelines say to submit the art in an 1000x1000px image. I realize I sound very ignorant here, but what is "px"? Does that mean pixel?

And when I draw using layers, I usually have the outline of an image on one layer and the color for it on another. I suppose that would be acceptable to WeLoveFine?

    would think so re pixels

but I know nothing about WeLoveFine so I have no idea what is acceptable to them... colouring on separate layers is mainstream technique.... in my field [comic art] often one layer per colour [but that is a print oriented thing as much as anything else].. best you check with them if it is not clear from the guidelines...
