    Default Uploading groups

    Hi,

I just saw a 'Tip of the day' which says that each group is exported as a single image.....so don't group objects together if you don't want them exported as one.

Does this apply to text? I notice that I have included text in a group in some webpages - together with links and when I look at the loaded page I can select individual images that are included in a group. So I don't think that this is true.

    Not sure what this means.

If text is grouped to anything else, or just grouped to nothing but has been Grouped (Arrange > Group), then it exports as a bitmap and not editable text.

If you are concerned that search engines will not be able to identify the content, then add a searchable description to the image (Website Properties > Image > Image Caption (Alt Text))

Shape Shifter posted a while back with some sort of Name you can apply to text that is part of a group to have it export as text. Perhaps SS will check in with the magic name.

Thanks for that, the reason I was confused was that I had created a webpage with groups and could still select the text from the webpage and from within a group. I looked again and realised that I had used a soft group and this does not create a bitmap.
