Exporting Xara 3D to animated gif

I'm working in Xara 3D in Virtual PC on a Mac.
I've tried exporting as an animated gif but
every time I try, the program itself stops
saving, becomes static and gives me a message
that the program is not responding, obviously
not saving my gif. I should say it saves a partial one that won't open. Is this because
I only have a demo version?
