That looks cool. The fronts of the letters look kind of like shiny plastic balloons.
Since you're working with materials that are lit (in 3D modeling), sometimes the results are different than we envisioned them, but still come out nicely.
See...your playing paid off... you learned a couple of things, made something cool, and now feel compelled to learn/explore more.

When you enter text (assuming you make it Blender, rather than imported as SVG), then you can use the F (object data button for Text) button to get at the settings for Extrusion and for the Bevel. It's called Depth, but it's right under the word Bevel. It acts as you think it would. The F is necessary for any text work, since text is planar AND the Blender default font is really not so good...
