You've been having a lot of fun with this today. I like the table top, was that texture created in Xara? The glass vases look really nice, that's something I have yet to attempt in blender.

...and you have the same types of textures (called "procedural") that are based on math rather than imagery in Blender. There are many varieties and an especially useful one is Clouds (the default texture that comes up). By simply adding a Clouds texture and changing the color underneath the Clouds tab, you can get some cool textured/"layery" types of things. Using it for an alpha makes for ethereal looking objects! (partially visible, partially mist) Try it.
I used them to make the "space fruit" below. [Clouds procedural texture for the left two and Voronoi for the right two...]
