Default Blender - Group project, if interested...

I decided to make a small room, in this case, a kid's room. I didn't make it blue or pink so that it wasn't any particular gender...so let's say it is for a Brother and Sister.

I have made and already stuck a cabinet in there...

Anyone else want to add in some toys or shelves or toy boxes or whatever???

Get rid of that purple cube and have at it. If you'll re-upload it, then someone else can add more junk until it looks more like a proper "kids' room"!

Here's how the room looks at the start...

http://www.jamesalexander.de/ROOM.blend is the packed Blendfile in case someone wants to have a go...

Many kids' toys have a relatively simple geometry, so it's a good place to start to get your modeling skills on.

    Peace

What a fun idea! I turned that purple cube into a bed! And because I covered it with a bed spread it didn't have to be perfect, Gotta love that cloth simulation!

    I love it, Frances

What a great idea... and it looks just right! Cool bedspread.

Now, to (analogously) remind me of my bedroom as a kid, it just 1024 more things.

    Really good job, Frances

I decided to add a carpet and a toy box, and I hope you don't mind James, I bumped up the lights a bit to brighten up the room. And since Blender is free and will import quite a few 3d formats those who use other3d software should be able to join in as well!

So who's going to fill that toy box?

    Hello Frances,

Re: "...I hope you don't mind, James..."

Not at all. It's here for fun/play/experiment/learning... go as little or as much crazy as you'd like with it.

By the way, I like both the new carpet and the toybox... it just looks a little empty.

I'll try to come up with a toy or two to add when I have just a bit more time. Busy week this week...at my "real" work.

    Peace

I like this thread James. I hope I can come to terms with Blender soon so I can participate.

    Hello Larry,

Glad that you are enjoying it.

When the urge moves you and Blender agrees, I'm sure you'll add something, Larry.

I look forward to it. How about one of your paintings on the wall? Just an idea...

    Peace

I felt like the wall could use some decorating, so added a few Disney characters I made in Xara for my grandchildren
