Default Crack the Code - 4

You need to crack the code, work out the Song Title and then give us a cryptic clue or something that would make us laugh as well tell us that you've worked it out.

Using the letters on the keys on an old type mobile phone
(some of you may still have one!)
you need to work out the Song Title

This is my No.1 of all-time favourite songs.

    Here is the code: 84354846493277

Seems like it's always just you and me, Rik. Cracking the code is one thing, but coming up with a cryptic clue that makes you laugh is quite something else. It might take years to work that out. The good news is we don't have to make a living out of it.

Maybe people just don't like this kind of stuff?!

But, your clue is excellent, Guy.
    Certainly made me smile.

Frances: I think you need to say it loud, say it clear.

    I like your answer too.

    *******************

Gary Bouton came up with, what I've called "Gare's Code Cracking machine"
    It's novel and brilliant.
    This is how it works.

First, you need to arrange the numbers with the letters associated with those numbers in this fashion.
(I have shown this below and drawn a rectangle around the different parts for ease of demonstration.)

Then see what the code is.
For example, the code could be: 22669

Now you need a rectangle (like the grey one shown below) and put the numbers onto that rectangle.
Simply move the numbers up and down until you get letters that start to make words along the white part.

    There you have it.
A great way of solving (cracking) the code.

EDIT: I forgot to say. Don't use my letters in the example above, or you'll never solve one of these puzzles!

Actually it was a cryptic clue or something to make us laugh, not sure I could scramble to do both.

I guess it's roughly the only way to crack the code. I use a similar setup in a spreadsheet.

Well, now that Gary Bouton has come up with his Code Cracking Machine, and you use a spreadsheet, the next 'Crack the Code' will not be so easy!
