We haven't had WIPs of space vehicles lately, so...

There's the Star Trek Mesh Collection

http://trekmeshes.starfleet.ch/

where you can download various Federation ship meshes for different apps. Eric Peterson created the mesh I've used in this image.

It's a great resource, folks.

Mark--

I had to kinda show the quality of their models, didn't I? So I'm slumming it by not creating an Enterprise of my own

BTW, glitterato and Lunar Cell Photoshop filters were used to create the background. Here's the link:

Oh, yeah. And there's a lot of FREE textures and SuperBlade Pro environments there. And nifty desktop icons. Q: Why is it that programs such as Maya cost $3,000 and come with an absolutely pathetic desktop icon ?

My Best,
Gare

Thanks, Stu--

I'm just trying to keep this forum alive. By the looks of things, we still got our hardcore members, but that numbers us less than ten!

Keepcontributing, please! I really dig your work. You are a creative inspiration, and I think that sentiment goes for the other 9 of us!

Regards,

Gare

Go easy on me, this is my first attempt at a 3D program.I downloaded 3D Canvas about 3 months ago and finally decided to learn how to use it.It is really cool to be able to look at objects from any angle.I thought this image would fit in this thread okay.

Hello, weldorman...
and welcome to this site in case no one has welcomed you before.

For your first 3D attempt, it's terrific! I would not work on the meshes any more, just as a creative suggestion, but instead, work on your camera and lighting. Would it not be a more compelling composition if the ships were of different sizes (different distances from the camera), and a cold, hard one source light was the illumination?

Again, thanks for contributing to a site that needs members badly!

Kindest Regards,

Gare

Ahh, good to see ya Stu! As always, nice work. I'm curious if you've upgraded to C4D 8? I hear nice things about it.

Are you sure it's 10 people posting here Gary? Seems to me like maybe 6!

Oh well, for some reason I've hung onto this forum as I've moved onto others. It's still a warm and comfy place to be. Just wish a few more people would join us!

Brett
