Q's

1st is there any advantages/disadvantages of this format this over other files e.g .swf .flv?

2nd does it run ok in a body Placeholder in xara?

There's no such format.
It's a tag. ( eg: <video> )

But if you are talking about WebM, well, that's not supported widely yet. Neither do Xara.
