Some times I try things just to see what will happen.

Let's see, we have a beveled shape with a bitmap fill and a circular fill, and a colored drop shadow, a circle on top with a circular transparency, a script G with a three step contour, and drop shadow, six circular filled circles, blended with same, on a script g-shaped path, with the alt rainbow option, and the to center acceleration profile applied. Incredible or what?

And, although it took a while on my ancient 450 Pentium II computer to draw, it didn't crash :-)

If anybody ever doubts you when you tell them how great Xara is, create a blend like this and ask them to recreate it in their application of choice. Yeah right!

Wow Gary! I know what you mean! I have 32meg of RAM and not much of anything else that will help me speed-wise! But am currently saving up to get a Gig processor with anywhere from 500 to a Gig of RAM! I'll be zooomin then. I like your image, not matter how long it took you! I just got done with my bubble image and it has SOO many pieces, it takes a while to render. Nice job

That image just jumps out of the screen! Excellent. It leaves my 166 chip with 128 Mb out in the cold. To create an image of this quality I'd need a pack of 200 ciggies and a case of Carlsberg. Then leave it overnight to render. But your point is'nt missed, it would crash most other programs.

Gary, if your computer is ancient, what would you call my 200 mHz Pentium I with 48 mb RAM and 1.2 gig hard disk? Yet, as long as I stay within reason, it runs Xara X perfectly well.

While we are moving aside from the point, the good thing about XaraX is that they kept the download to 6.5M.

In these days of "you must have 500M of free Hard Drive space available" on the box, it is nice to see such a good tool in such a nice size.

Off course I had to find XaraX after I'd upgraded to 866MHz 128M ram 30G Hard Drive.

Hey, Gary, how about posting the Xara file here so we can test it out on our own systems? How long DID it take to render that beautiful image?
