Default Concerning Navigation options for "Long" Web Pages

This has probably been discussed somewhere in the forum but I'm not even sure what keywords to search for.

At www.Xara.com, the pages have those fixed links to FaceBook, Twitter, and You-Tube at the right-side of the browser window.

I've got some prototype web-pages where a client is insisting on putting a lot of info on certain pages and thus those pages are now very long and require scrolling. The navigation is awkward now, so my thought is to put Home, Previous, and Next icons at the right-side in a manner similar what is done on the Xara website (the main navigation bar at the top of the browser window will remain).

I hoping there is some sort of a widget to accomplish this.

If not, perhaps someone could post as simple 3-page .xar example?

John - I moved your post to the web design chat forum.

What I do in these circumstances, and this is very simple, is add a line of text TOP OF PAGE linked to # which reloads the page. I just add it between long sections and often at the bottom of a long page.

I'm sure there are floating navigation bar solutions out there. Try Coffee Cup Software and/or do a Google search for Floating Navigation Bars, Buttons and see what you come up with.

    # reloads the page.

I didn't realize that. Thanks, Gary

Let us know if you find some utility for floating menus. I know this gets asked a lot and I have no idea of a resource.

Perhaps Mr. Shifter will have some idea when he crawls out of the sack.

    There's a tweak for this: http://board.xara-users.info/viewtop...p=16695#p16695

Yes I tried and cannot connect to Xara Users and the "Down for me or Everyone" site verifies it is down.

It is up and running now.

Thanks Gary, Bill, and, of course, JohnH. !!!!!!

So is I see the script triggers a pop up layer that contains the buttons.

What part of it keeps that PopUpLayer persistent and not disappear?

It's not a pop-up layer anymore. The code in the tweak placeholder makes this layer permanently visible.
