    Default Professional Logo design

There's a lot of talk about Logos on talkgraphics and this might be an interesting read if you want to know how professionals work:

That's how I have always approached logo design. Except I have not held a pencil in so long I have forgotten how to do it.

Very nice documentation of the logo exploration and design process.

You look at a lot of different sites obviously, Paul. On of my wife's favorite sites is http://www.3quarksdaily.com/ A real cornucopia of interesting links.

I find Gary's statement about not using a pencil is hard to get my head around. The only way that I have found to work for me is to brainstorm a design or even the process of getting a design together is to use a pencil. I have not done any logo designing for about 9 years and because they are so abstract I would find it very difficult to work on an idea in my head before laying it down on the computer and then developing or rejecting that idea. That's why he is a much better desgner than me.
    Design is thinking made visual.
