regardless of how you did the sites, well done, very clean, great use of colours, well laid out.

Great J! sites. As mentioned, very nice use of color and layout.
For what it's worth, while I have not used Xara products to actually build a site, I do use it for design purposes--determining what the site initially is going to look like. With a set of PNG graphics I have (from another person, another forum), I can plop down elements quickly onto an XDP page and then, once the design is finalized, build the site in whatever the client desires.
