Default The "snap to guide" ?

    Hello.

Until I have in the "Windows" properties "show guides" and "snap to guides" selected, I can't put any object stricly along the guides, as I could do before... and I don't understand what I could do to loose this property !

Thank you in advance for your help

The "snap to grid" works very well, the "snap to guide" doesn't anymore - it worked more than 15 monthes before !)

    Very strange...

Stephane, are you saying that it no longer turns on in the window menu?

That sounds normal to me. At least that's how my XDP6 works.

Hello and thank you for answering me.

Before, this function was ok on my Xara. And it is very important as I have now difficulties to make quickly good works concerning surfaces on "low level" layers (as I have to put quantified datas to create and place surfaces, instead of doing everything in a few seconds with mouse, thanks to the guides)

And sorry if I didn't explain very well the problem...

What's happening exactly ? Of course I can create guide (they appear on red and dotted lines). Of course the "Window > Snap to guide" is on. Moreover, if I make a right-click on mouse, I can see that the "snap to guide" is on.

But when I create a basic vector object, and I move it with mouse, my vector object doesn't snap anymore on the guide. As if guides were not recognized anymore...

So big problems to "build" something rigorously, unless, as I wrote over, I put datas with numbers, in the X,Y, W,H boxes, and that's a lot of unpleasant work as you can imagine !

No and that's what is strange : in the window menu the snap to guide is on. EVen if I click-right with mouse I see it on too. But in effective page, it doesn't work (anymore)... I insist on "anymore" because It worked for 2 years before !

Here is a link where you can see the choices for guides... (with no effective results but that can't be show, I just can tell it )

    Stephanie,
do you have your work saved somewhere.
Try uninstallintg the program and reinstalling to see if that fixes the problem. Could be something you didn't know about changed your program.

Ok that's what I will try to do then...

I bought the Xara Xtreme 5 online, 2 years ago. I have a serial number, but... no "physical soft" to download anymore.

How can I do then ?
