Default How to force Xara thumbnails in Windows 7 64bit?

Windows 64bit systems do not show .xar (or .web) file type thumbnails in Windows explorer.
I saw a thread with solution for Windows Vista 64 but it doesn't apply do Windows 7.
I've also tryed the same procedure starting Xara Design as Administrator. But no success.
I wonder if it's some sort of permition or something in the file.

It's funny that old files (made with Xtreme 4) shows thumbnails fine. Only new files.
It cam be a problem when we have many files in a same folder and have to find a specifc one fast.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits & Xara Designer Pro 6

It depends of the level of permissions your user has in Windows.
To successfully register libraries, you must have administrator rights. Pay attention that even with the user "Administrator", Windows will require administration rights, you only have it using the option "Run as administrator" with right button.

Anyway, you also can try to copy the DLL to a system folder and then register it with a software.

I install programs under Admin account and work in user account on win7 64 bit system.
While in user account, I followed the instructions to right click and run as administrator when opening the command prompt.
Followed instructions and promptly got an error.
Checked the name of the dll file and saw that I had typed XaraThumb64.dll instead of XarThumb64.dll
Typed it correctly and it works great.

Since August of last year have not had thumbnails so this is very appreciated.

Question Re: How to force Xara thumbnails in Windows 7 64bit?

Wish I could say the same -see attached

And, tell me again, why I can 'not' just upload a PNG; but, have to upload to somewhere else to post a image graphic to here...???

Anyway, no dll according to the error I am getting - Thanks

Please read the first quoted set of instructions again :-) Your screenshot shows you are in the wrong path: instead of the system32 folder it should be the XaraDLLs folder.

Thanks John, give me a quick DOS refresher (it's been a while) -cd means change Directory, what is the syntax to get to the right folder?
(as when I try to 'follow' the Instructions, Avast says that WinRAR is trying to Open -Haven't Figured that out [why would WinRAR want to Open when I am just trying to Run at the DOS Prompt? -Something is Up!] Thanks - Tom -Paddling Fast (have pix of this WinRAR if needed via ImageShack <sigh>)
