    Default Page Preview WD7

New to Web Designer... When I try to do a page preview or site preview on WD7, I get an error message: "Unable to find the filter to import that file with". What filter is that, and wouldn't that have been part of the program download??

you could try right clicking and running the program as adminstrator [only need to do it once] - this is a vista/win7 thing

Could be a third-party thing - anything on the page that might be?

Third party anything should not be causing problem. Inserted scripts, widgets, html, embedded content should not be a problem.

Did you use Export Option from menu or or button on toolbar?
Try the menu option: File > Preview Website

Third Party security software or registry protectors can and do cause these problems Sam. :-)

Yes, restricted accounts are not allowed (by Windows) to register COM objects (ActiveX) for all users of the machine so when running under a restricted account we try to register the filters for just the current user (which Windows does allow). However, some security software thinks this is a security issue and blocks the changes to the registry. Running the program once as administrator *usually* allows it to register the filters for all users of the machine.
