Jim - You might want to look at Photo and Graphics Designer 7.

I just updated the review. Neil at Xara pointed out several inaccuracies which are now corrected and I discovered the high resolution Photo Clipart covered on the bottom of page 5. It is pretty incredible.

its still there - but the button is not on the toolbar by default - you need to go to the button palette and alt+drag it off

EDIT: oh and shift+f5 still appears to work...

You can also assign custom shortcut keys to the Pen Tool if you have Pro 7.

Gary, the Workbook looks very good. Thanks!

There doesn't appear to be an upgrade path from Designer Pro 6 to Photo and Graphics Designer 7, so the savings are all of $10 ($89 for a full purchase of Photo and Graphics Designer 7 and $99 for the upgrade from Designer Pro 6 to 7).

Darwin - Probably explains why Jim upgraded to Designer Pro 7 then.

ary the first page in Chrome raised my grphics card usage up to a extremely high level! So much so that Chrome offered to "kill page or wait".
Peter - I have heard this from several users. Of course Chrome may have been passing judgment on my design as well

I think that while there are not a whole lot of major changes, the changes made have added a lot. The live snapping has also been available in other applications, but I use Designer and not the other applications and I am really glad they added it. And the Magic Erase is very useful, especially when used on the right images and at high resolution. The zoom widgets would be enough to make me upgrade. And if I ever found myself working in the corporate environment, I would find the presentation feature useful.

But for my money, the combination of WD7's tools and Designer's range of tools would make the upgrade a no-brainer for me.
