Replace bitmap gone?

It's not a biggy or even a buggy.
But where has the rightclick>replace bitmap function gone?
Now one needs to go through the menu>import and adding through the bitmap gallery or fill gallery adding a folder again.
For me dragging from win explorer doesn't work.
At least not adding it to an object,only adding a new photo to the page

right click > replace photo

That's only after you assign it to have a bitmap fill
in dp6 it is always an option in rightclick menu!

I agree. The former method in version 6, and the fact this capability is seemingly removed altogether in 7, is much better.

Like I stated in the first post,dragging with either ctrl+drag or shift+drag doesn't work.
So the replace bitmap function was much used by me,now it takes a step more to achieve it.


Like to know by the development team why the function was dropped

shift+drag works for me from an open windows explorer window or desktop, but not from an open dialog box [such as the import box] but then it never did that AFAIK

Here it doesn't work,only adds a new photo to the page
It has some issues in other ways.
If i do it from xnview shift+drag only adds a photo as well
but ctrl+drag adds four different bitmaps??

[I'm on XP home SP3 if this means anything to anyone in this regard]

all I can suggest is you

select the bitmap in windows explorer
without holding down the mouse press shift key and whilst holding that, now click and drag with mouse to replace

does that work?

I've noticed that if I rush the operation it doesn't always work.. but can't pin down why [could be just operator error - ie: me ]

Yes I noticed it too,
When doing it very very slow it seems to work on and off.(WIN7)
While opening as administrator it doesn't work at all??
But my main question was why the rightclick option was dropped.
Hope the dev team would reconsider and put it back in the next update
