Banished !!!

I'm not an expert on forums and the worldwide use and opinions.

So, can I ask, "Why is it that we 'Banish' what looks to be an obvious spammer and yet we leave the post on view?"
"Why not delete it because what the spammer wanted to achieve is still being achieved, up to a point?

Might just be an oversight but the link, in the last banished post, is still there?!

I suppose we could have draconian rules but would that really work and might that work against genuine members wanting to join?

I just think it's a shame that we get this kind of traffic.

The problem is that moderators can only remove or edit posts in their forums. For example, I can only do this in the Web design forum. Only admin and supermoderator can do this throughout all forums on TG. But all moderators can ban members. So, if moderator see a spammer, he has to do as much as possible to neutralize him. Banishing stops him from posting more spam. The post will be removed as soon as someone who can do this visits a forum.
