Default NAVBAR: Changing color of existing Navigation Bar

Honestly, it's been a bit tough going getting up to speed with WD6. I find myself running into snags just using the interface and trying to get things done.

At any rate, what I am running into currently is that I have a working toolbar from a template, but I need to change it's colors for both mouse off and mouse over. I saw the video and it makes it look very easy by going into the navbar->properties->menu style and simply select the colors you want. This is having no visible effect for me..

How can I change the colors of my existing navbar? I hope I won't have to recreate it each time I want to change the colors, etc.

    Thanks for any help!

The navbar->properties->menu style is for the menus - i.e. the sub-menus
The Navbar mouseover/mouseoff themes colours you edit from the colour editor

    Thank you for your reply.

So, it seems that the mouse off and mouse over are using Theme colors #4 and #1. Is this always the case or how can I set a custom color for the off and over? I already have other Theme colors defined, but I don't seem to be able to choose any of those if it has to be a Theme color.

    I appreciate your comments.

Which navbar are you using? Are you using a template for instance?

I hope you had a good weekend and holiday and thanks for your help here.

Yes, I am using the Associate template. I would like my theme colors to be what they are, but customize the colors of the high level menu item.

It's funny how sometimes you can bang your head against a wall trying to do something and then someone like yourself comes along and provides such a straight-forward and quick solution. Thank you for that.

Is this a common action(using Control-Click on an object I mean)? I have never Ctrl-clicked objects before and maybe it's something I should be more aware of. Shift-click? Alt-click? I'm going to have to play with this.

Thank you It wasn't me who did the video though, I just commissioned it ... sort of

Please take notice of the bit at the beginning about renaming the first page index instead of home ... there could be confusion otherwise
