Grid preference

I have just started a free trial 0f Xara designer pro 6, and I would like to change the grid style,.I would like solid lines instead of the dotted/stars layout which seems to be the default grid. can anyone tell me how to do this?

You could layout your own design and put it on the guide layer :-)

My version of Xara (old) doesn't offer solid lines in the grid as far as I know toymaker. I have done what neodist has suggested in the past though.

Any line, or shape for that matter, will be displayed as a dotted line when placed on the grid layer.
When I have wanted a solid guide line I have simply constructed the grid or guides I need and placed on a locked layer beneath my drawing.
