    Default My website (WIP)

Here is a site I am designing for my graphic design business. It is still a work in progress, but wanted to share the design I have done. Just small touch ups are left. Working on navbar.

    Thanks

Good start there Chris. As you are at an early stage of the design do a search for web design trends 2011, you will notice that a lot of the new trends suit xara web design perfectly.

Nice design. Personally I think it could be wider - looks a bit lost on my machine. If I don't look at the browser scrollbar, I wouldn't notice there's a footer. I'm kind of rebelling against the mirror images too.

Definitely a good look though. Far better than most we see.

VERY nice. The kind of "overlaying" shapes you do are among my favorite design elements.

My only concern is that your menu text is virtually the largest on the page. It just seems too overbearing or something. Might you consider making it smaller ... or using gray text to defuse the visual impact? But my first impression was instant like.

I like the overall look and feel of the design. Your buttons could use a little more interaction. The mouse over effect is too subtle and looks more like an accident. Since you are offering design, see what you can do to surprise and amaze your visitors.

Really appreciate the feedback. As they say the hardest person to design for is yourself. I am making changes and working on some ideas I have and taking all the feedback into my design to. Thanks again!
