    Default Problem with .swf file

I've created a "flip book" to show some of my work.
    The programme outputs 3 files:
    1. an .swf file
    2. an HTML file
    3. a folder that contains all the files

I created a button in WD7 and assigned it as a place holder.
I then selected "replace with flash" and browsed to the .swf file location

Xara then created a new folder called "sitename_web_files" which have all the output files in it.

When I preview the page, the button flashes with a "book failed" message. ("book" is the name of the .swf file)

    Can anyone please help?

Basically all you need is the Flash .swf file. You do not need the HTML file or the folder.

Create a rectangle in Web Designer the same size as your Flash movie.

Open the Website Properties > Placeholder tabbed section. Press the Browse... button for Replace with Flash. Select your .swf file.

When you publish your website, Web Designer automatically places a copy of the .swf file in the htm_files_folder and links to this folder from the HTML page. All the heavy lifting is done for you.

I've tried this over and over again - I don't get any images - just the control bar.
I've created a new single page site to make things really simple - perhaps you could have a look at this?
When I place the 3 files in a folder on my desktop and click the html file, it runs perfectly, so there's no problem with the output files.
    I've attached all the files.
Any help would be much appreciated!

OK, so I've been experimenting a bit.
Trashed the place holder idea and instead I made it a link to the .swf file - and now it sort of works!
I get the flip book, controls etc. but the pages are blank, so it's not accessing the individual page files.
    Any other ideas?

    Hi,
I have had a similar experience of a swf file failing.
This worked for me when I had this problem. Download Format Factory (free) and convert the swf file to mp4 and import the mp4 either onto your page or into a placeholder, check the tutorial in the introduction demo video for the correct way to import.

Hope this works for you! stunning photographs

    Hi Fizzygas,
    Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, it's a flip book file so I need the interface for the user to be able to go forwards and back wards through the book.
I'll take a look at Format Factory anyway.
